Today marked the first Canadian Thanksgiving that I was not alone. Wow. I went over to my friend Andrea's house and we partook in more gluttony than I had ever experienced in my life. I swear this hangover is from food. She even made me vegetarian stuffing, and I brought some Tofurkey for myself! It was awesome and a wonderful night spent with amazing people.
Tonight was our kirtan night in North York. To add more pleasant surprises to my evening, my lovely darling friend David was there! We have so much in common and would so be BFFs if we lived closer, alas, we never see each other besides running into each other at random Moksha functions. I sang like my life depended on it for two hours straight tonight. It was so freeing and absolutely wonderful.
I received an email this morning saying that my friend/colleague Michelle passed away last night from complications from lupus.
I'm really sad. She leaves behind her husband and five year old son. How do you explain to a five year old that mommy's not coming back? It seems so unfair.
It brings me a little peace, however, knowing that she was only in a deep coma for about five days, and her family didn't have to live in agony for months wondering when she was going to go. She also saved five lives through organ donation.
Rest in peace, beautiful girl. You will be much missed.
A client at our agency makes and sells these, normally as earrings. I wanted to know if she could make me a necklace in First Nations colours and she did! So thoughtful and gorgeous.
A colleague/friend of mine is quite sick right now. She is in a deep coma and doctors aren't very positive about her prognosis. If anyone who reads this could take a tiny moment to send loving prayers and healing energy to Michelle and her family, I would appreciate it. Thanks, and God bless :)
